ANC Summarizer 12-1-06
The story I am reading is about a 13 year old girl who was assigned to write a journal over the summer. Mary Lou Finney has no idea what a journal is or how to write one. Her family is caught up in their own lifes, they don’t pay attention to whats going on in each others lifes. Mary’s cousin Carl is coming to stay with the Finney family until he finds a place of his own. He is moving down there to get a job. Mary Lou thought that she liked a boy at school. It turns out he is a jerk. Alex Cheevy is a popular person at her school. Can her family deal with such a pain as Carl? Will Mary find out what to write in her journal before summer break ends?

I haven’t read this book, but I think you did a good job of summarizing the first part. I am a bit confused about one thing. Is Alex Cheevy the boy that Mary Lou likes? Look at the way you wrote it again and you might see how you could restate it to be clearer. Lifes should be lives, but overall your punctuation and spelling is very good. I hope you enjoy the rest of the book.

I agree with what Kit told you - that’s exactly what I was thinking as I read your post.

I agree with you about what you wrote and that the Finneys are busy and that they have to deal with Carl Ray until he can find a job.

I agree with what you wrote that the Finneys are really bussy and they have to deal with Carl Ray. Also I agree about how Alex is a jerk and Mary thought she like him. Also that Mary trys to learn how to write a journal but her parents are too busy
