  This week I was a reflector. My job was to rate on how I feel about working in a literture group. If i would rate the group, I would give it a 8. My reason is because, I find it more interesting reading with other people, then reading by yourself. Another reason is because I can focus more on whats going on in the story, then reading fast and ignoring the importent events. 

 1. Describe Beth Ann’s new behavior. How does Mary Lou feel about it?

 Beth Ann’s new behavior is a boasting act. She brags about her date with a cute guy, and is making Mary Lou jealous. Mary Lou thinks she won’t ever go on a date with a cute guy like Dereck, but soon she finds out he is just a gawky looking jerk!

2. How does Mary Lou react when Mr. Furtz dies?

Mary Lou is sad to think one day Mr. Furtz was paying her to water his lawn, and next he is dead. She feels bad for his children, because of what happened to their father. The rest of the family are trying to help the Furtz overcome the pain of death from a loved one.

 This week I was a critical thinker. I had to make up questions about the events that happened in the story Absolutely Normal Chaos. Here are some questions that you might want to answer as you read thhe story.

1. Why did Carl Ray come to the Finney’s house?

2. How does the brother, Dennis, get hurt?

3. How does the book decribe how Carl Ray looks?

4. How does Mr.Furtz die? Who did it effect the most?

5. Who does Beth Ann have a date with? How is he described?

  These questions made me think as I read threw the book. I know that the questions will help whoever is reading the book, and and maybe explain what is going on in the story.

       The story I am reading is about a 13 year old girl who was assigned to write a journal over the summer. Mary Lou Finney has no idea what a journal is or how to write one. Her family is caught up in their own lifes, they don’t pay attention to whats going on in each others lifes. Mary’s cousin Carl is coming to stay with the Finney family until he finds a place of his own. He is moving down there to get a job. Mary Lou thought that she liked a boy at school. It turns out he is a jerk. Alex Cheevy is a popular person at her school. Can her family deal with such a pain as Carl? Will Mary find out what to write in her journal before summer break ends?

1. Why was Paul content to be backup goalie?

Because it was better then not playing soccer at all. And he will at least be able to play some games when the goaltender got hurt.

 2. What happened when Paul went in to the soccer game for Victor? What was Victor’s reaction?

 When Paul went in for Victor because Victor was bleeding on his fourhead. Victor didn’t like anyone playing for him because he wanted to win.

 3. Why didn’t Maya need Mrs. Fisher’s encouragement?”

Maya didn’t need the encouragement because she is already a great player in soccer!

The Titanic was a marvolous ship. It was a palace on the sea. A tradgic accident happened in 1912. The sink of the Titanic.

Lake Windsor Middle School has experienced a sinkhole on September 11^th. It was a rainy day when all of a sudden a terrible sinkhole had struck. No one expected it. It seemed the students and the staff, were not prepared for it. Some might say that it’s the districts fault. For putting up buildings on condemned grounds. Still it was an unexpected tragedy.

Paul Fisher was the hero of the day! He fought his way into the mud to help students escape a near death. If it wasn’t for him and a few other students, they would’ve been either injured badly or killed. Loads of buildings fell over. As students panic and run around, Paul helped other students out of portable 19. Here is a thank you to Paul Fisher, the hero of the day!

Sinkholes are common where the rock below the land surface is limestone. Sinkholes are dramatic because the land usually stays intact for a while until the underground spaces just get too big. If there is not enough support for the land above the spaces then a sudden collapse of the land surface can occur. The most damage from sinkholes tends to occur in

Florida, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and
Pennsylvania.

     If I was going to make Tangerine into a movie, I would choose a sad background song. Almost like a the one from The Incredible Hulk, when he is walking down the street with one backpack strap over his shoulder. The reason I would choose a sad song is because, when Paul moves he is sort of sad. Also because he doesn’t want to move into a new house that he has never heard of, or has a muck fire that never ends.Then, after the sad part has ended I would make the music fast and joyful. That part would be when Paul and his mother are in the car and Paul askes about the Tangerines in Florida. This is why I would choose a sad song and a joyful one to take part in my book, Tangerine.

The safe exposure limit for noise is 85 decibels for eight hours a day. Every time the volume level increases by three decibels, the safe exposure time drops by half.

1. Why would a car stereo be used in for the snapshot?

To show what which is the loudest out of the three.

2. Why is the “100″ more to the left than the numbers above it?

Because it goes from greatest to least.Also because the BoomBox is the least loudest.

3. Why are the lines wavy? What does it represent?

The lines are wavy because it represents the sound. Which is called sound waves.

4. What is the purpose of the ear on the right?

The purpose of the ear is to show how the sounds affect the ear.

5. Do you need to know what a decible is in order to understand theis snapshot? Explain your answer.

No, because you could figure it out by just observing it.
